World star dumps Tesla in protest: Symbol of racism

Singer Bette Midler has sold her Tesla, following Sheryl Crow, calling the car a symbol of racism and greed amid declining Tesla sales.

Tesla's sales have fallen in the first quarter of this year, the lowest level for the car brand in several years. Celebrities like Bette Midler are now choosing Tesla in pure protest.

Some analysts point to a possible connection. They see a connection between Elon Musk's political involvement and the brand's image.

Investment bank JP Morgan commented on the figures. They said that sales were far below even the lowest estimates.

JP Morgan believes this confirms an unprecedented fire damage for Tesla. They had feared this development earlier.

Dissatisfaction is also seen among celebrities. Several have publicly announced their farewell to Tesla, including well-known names from the entertainment industry.

Celebrities turn their backs on Tesla

Singer and actress Bette Midler is one of them. The 79-year-old world star has sold her Tesla. She herself talks about the decision on Instagram .

The action has received a lot of attention in the US. Bette Midler apparently links her decision to Elon Musk's activities.

She expresses great relief over the sale. Her Instagram post contains strong words.

"What a joyous day," Bette Midler wrote on Instagram. "Life is suddenly so much better that I no longer need to drive a symbol of racism, greed, and ignorance! Life is suddenly so much better!"

With the post, she clearly signals her distance. She no longer wants to be associated with the car. According to her, the car represents negative values.

Elon Musk and Tesla's image

Bette Midler isn't the only celebrity to have spoken out about selling her Tesla, either. It happened on Valentine's Day earlier this year.

Elon Musk's public behavior is often controversial. His statements and actions on social media and in other contexts divide the public.

This seems to be affecting the perception of the Tesla brand. The brand's image is closely linked to Elon Musk as a person.

When he makes controversial statements, it can rub off on Tesla, as analysts' comments suggest.

The declining sales in the first quarter of the year underscores the challenges. Tesla faces a market with increased competition. At the same time, external factors such as the brand's reputation are affecting.

Bette Midler has a long career behind her. She is known for big musical hits. She has also appeared in several successful films.

Her decision to sell the Tesla is a personal statement. However, it coincides with a period of challenges for the car brand. Time will tell how Tesla handles the current situation.

While celebrities like Bette Midler are opting out of Tesla, there is still great interest in the brand among car enthusiasts.
