It is not only batteries for electric cars that can be difficult to obtain. A Hyundai owner must recognize that. For a whole 9 months he waited for a battery for his hybrid car.
A Hyundai owner could have become a mother.
That's how long she waited for a new battery for her for her car, a Sonata Hybrid.
But it was long before the nine-month wait that the problems for Kari Kind, as the woman is called, began. The battery in the car started to die.
– It looked a bit like a pinball machine gone mad. Just as the lights in the car went out. However, that was only the beginning of Kari Kind's nightmare. At the dealer, they told her that the battery for her hybrid car is extremely difficult to obtain.

At first, the dealer told her that she should expect to wait somewhere between one and six months for a new battery pack. She ended up waiting much longer.
Kari Kind tells News 6 that she finally got the car back. A whole nine months after she handed the car over to the dealer.
According to the Hyundai dealer, Kind has offered to buy the car back for the 'current used car price'. An offer she has, however, rejected.
– Due to a delay in the delivery of raw materials from a supplier, we expect a small number of customers to be stuck with backorders for the batteries on their hybrid versions of the Sonata.
– We are aware of the problem and we have increased our order in relation to the current demand to ensure that we are adequately covered, says Hyundai's American importer.
