One of the last two car factories in Belgium is now closer than ever to closure. Audi wants to get rid of the factory in Brussels.
No investor, buyer or direct buyer has been found for Audi's factory in Brussels, Belgium. The factory is thus closer than ever to closing.

The factory in Belgium currently produces only one car – the Q8 e-tron. A car that does not sell at all to the extent that Audi had expected. Conversely, the car brand will not give the Belgians anything else to do either.
The production of the Q8 e-tron is stopped according to the plan for time, because Audi cannot utilize the entire capacity of the plant. The order books are not big enough for that. The Q8 e-tron releaser's assembly line is then moved all the way to Mexico, where wages are significantly lower.
And now Audi's management can say that no buyer or investor has come forward for the land in Belgium. Conversely, the employees at the factory have already seen several of their colleagues lose their jobs.

In fact, the situation at the factory has made the employees so angry that they have both stolen some for 200 new cars and started a fire outside the factory gates in protest.
If the Audi factory in Belgium closes, it could become the first factory the Volkswagen Group closes in Europe. However, VW is not alone in factory closures. When Ford has assembled the last Focus in 2025, the factory will be shut down completely.
Something Ford in Denmark otherwise tried to deny when Boosted initially wrote about it. Several other car brands have reportedly dropped out of purchase agreements with Ford in particular for the factory, and one brand reportedly dropped out at the last moment. Read more about it here .
