Warning to drivers: Be especially careful on Sundays

On Sunday, Denmark switches back to daylight saving time. And that can cost drivers who aren't paying enough attention very dearly in parking fees.

The warning is the same every year. This time it comes from the Ministry of Transport in the form of a very short press release – remember daylight saving time!

On the night between March 29 and 30, 2025, we will switch to daylight saving time, and the clocks will therefore be set one hour ahead, the ministry says.

It's usually the parking companies that issue these kinds of warnings. But this time the authorities came first.

Every year, parking companies usually repeat the warning about the change from winter to summer time and vice versa. Especially because every year there are Danes who forget to check their parking disc.

– We want to help drivers avoid tolls, and therefore we remind them of the importance of setting the time correctly.

– Our parking attendants only have to consider the parking discs when assessing whether a car is allowed to park in the space.

– It is our task to ensure that parking spaces are used correctly in the places where we carry out parking checks.

– It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that the parking disc shows the correct time, says Alex Pedersen, director of Q-Park, as recently as October last year, just before winter time.

And although many drivers may feel safe because their parking discs are electronic, the discs can also create a form of false security.

Some parking discs do not adjust themselves automatically. A little manual work is required. Did you know that the electronic parking disc is not available everywhere? Read more about it here .
