Chinese Volvo's new electric cars are so full of errors that the brand is refunding money to customers. And now the absurdly expensive computers in the cars must be replaced, confirms the director.
Chinese Volvo is immediately buying back cars from disappointed customers. Other customers keep the cars, but do not have to hand them over either.
The car brand's director, Jim Rowan, confirms what Volvo has not previously wanted to comment on. Namely that the development of the brand new EX90 in particular has taken so long that the technology in the car is already outdated.
Carup writes this on the basis of a fashion that Volvo has maintained with its investors. Here the car brand said that it is true enough that the processor in the car must be replaced.

It has, among other things, means that Volvo cannot deliver the new EX90 with a whole range of the functions that customers have otherwise been promised. Among other things. missing everything from the lidar sensor to Apple CarPlay.
According to Carup, the maneuver will cost Volvo billions of kroner. The news thus overshadows Volvo's other news, that it has a profit of 5.5 billion Danish kroner after the first quarter in 2024.
– Yes, we will upgrade the EX90, of course all the way through. If it is something that we feel gives the customer an advantage, we believe it is our responsibility to do it.
– Some of it will be software, some of it will be hardware. After the launch of the car, we will collect data.
– We will look at the best ways to deliver software updates directly. However, there may also be cases where the cars need to be repaired. Volvo Cars will naturally cover these costs, says the director.
However, Jim Rowan doesn't think customers will be disappointed, although the EX90 isn't the only new Volvo to be riddled with faults.
– I'm sure. I'm singing in the car right now. It's a fantastic car. But of course I am biased. So we'll wait and see what the reviews say about the car in a few months.
