Volkswagen stops again, again the production of electric cars

Volkswagen is once again halting the production of a number of electric car models at the VAG Group's factory in Embden.

On Monday and for the next five days, Volkswagen will stop its assembly line at the VAG Group's factory in Emden, Germany.

This time, however, it is not to adjust the relationship with the falling demand for electric cars, which previously otherwise shut down the factory for several days.

This is written by Automobilwoche .

Instead, it is due to bottleneck problems, which mean that construction is not carried out i.a. VW ID.4 and ID.3 for five days.

This is confirmed by a spokeswoman from the brand. It is certainly not the first time that the VAG group has had to put the brakes on electric cars. In fact, it's not even the first time this year.

Back in February, Volkswagen had to stop production of electric cars due to falling demand. The same assembly line also remained idle in December last year.

At the time, it appeared that the VAG group, in order to adapt production to demand, would stop building the Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born in the last days of 2023.

There is also a planned pause in the production of fossil cars at Volkswagen. In fact, it is already underway. The month-long stoppage began on 1 March because the factory will be converted to be able to build the next Arteon Shooting Brake.

In this context, the regular Arteon and the absolute last copies of the Passat B8 are omitted. It also has consequences for the Danish police. Read more about how here!
