Tried to run away on the stolen motorbike – now the 35-year-old has to wait a long time for a choir card

A 35-year-old man tried to run away from East Jutland Police on Thursday evening. It is now going to cost him dearly.

The man who tried to escape from East Jutland Police at 21:38 on Thursday evening had no right to sit on the motorcycle at all. It was also not equipped with a number plate when the police caught sight of it. And perhaps that is precisely why the 35-year-old didn't have much of a desire to mess with law enforcement. In any case, he gassed up the motorcycle so that the speed reached over 200 km/h. In addition to the other traffic offences, he was also guilty of reckless driving. A longer chase was needed, because the motorcyclist gave up. The police soon found out that he had several 'good' reasons for running away. In addition to the speed, the man had both alcohol and drugs. He didn't have a choir card either. And the motorcycle? Yes, it was stolen. The charges therefore stood when the police got hold of the man, who after his arrest was taken to the hospital to have a blood sample taken. The fine alone for the missing choir card runs up to DKK 7,000. That is, if it is the first time the man has been stopped without one. Utility theft, alcohol and drug trafficking are other cases.
