The car rental company Hertz announced at the beginning of 2024 that it will get rid of 20,000 electric cars. Including several Teslas.
The announcement came shortly after the German competitor Sixt announced that it was getting rid of all Teslas in the fleet.
However, Hertz begins by saying goodbye to 20,000 electric cars on the American market. But now the matter has taken a new turn.
Hertz even states this in a press release .

The managing director Stephen Scherr has resigned his job. However, Hertz already has a replacement ready.

Gil West was until recently the head of the robot taxi company Cruise. But now he has to manage an entire business of rental cars with 27,000 employees.
By comparison, at its peak in 2020, Cruise had just 1,800 employees. However, 24 percent of them were fired in December 2023 after the taxi service withdrew a much-publicized permit. Read more about it here .

And the same is done at the gearbox manufacturer ZF. Here, the managing director says that no employees in any departments are protected in the attempt to find 44 billion Danish kroner in savings over the next six years.
