Tomorrow only – here petrol costs DKK 9.99 a litre

Shell expects massive cash when tomorrow they hold an opening party with a massive discount on petrol. Something that is otherwise outrageously expensive at the moment.

– If things go as they usually do, when we celebrate the opening party with cheap fuel, there will be a massive rush of motorists and presumably also cows far towards the center of Ribe. This is what DCC retail director Soren Moller Maretti said last week to Jyskevestkysten about the expectations Shell has for the opening of a new petrol station in the cathedral city. Tomorrow, i.e. Friday 10 June, exceptionally cheap petrol will lure customers to the opening day. But it is actually not the only time this month that Shell opens a new gas station. It also happens on Funen in Middelfart on June 24. Unfortunately, as in Ribe, there is only cheap petrol for a few hours. When the opening parties are over, the petrol costs what it used to. At the moment it is close to DKK 20 for ordinary octane 95. While the more expensive octane 100 – or V-Power as Shell says – already costs over DKK 20 per litre. Diesel costs DKK 17.6 a liter on Thursday afternoon.
