With just a few days left of a brand new year, it's time to take a look back – also at what hurts in the world of cars. Namely the loss of value. Is your car the list?
According to Car Dealer Magazine, it is the Jeep Compass Hybrid that has experienced the greatest loss in value in 2024.
An analysis of three-year-old cars with approximately 48,000 kilometers on the clock shows that the Jeep Compass Hybrid has lost 27.2 percent of its value over the past 12 months. This corresponds to a loss of DKK 47,000.
The Compass Hybrid is expected to get a new design in 2025, when it will also be on the market as a petrol, diesel and electric car. And a combination – that is, a hybrid.
The diesel-powered Kia Stonic is second on the list of cars with the biggest loss in value, losing 23.6 percent of its value in 2024, equivalent to DKK 22,000.
In third place we find the Peugeot Rifter Electric with a loss in value of 20.9%, equivalent to DKK 35,000.
Electric cars also occupy fourth and fifth places on the list. These are the Volvo C40 and the Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric.
The Volvo C40 has lost 20.2 percent of its value, which corresponds to DKK 51,000, while the Opel Vivaro Life Electric has experienced a decrease of 19.5 percent or DKK 32,000.
Ssangyong Korando Diesel takes sixth place with a loss in value of 19.3%, equivalent to DKK 26,000.
The analysis from Car Dealer Magazine is based on data from Cap HPI, which specializes in assessing the value of cars. It is worth noting that depreciation is a natural part of car ownership.
