Perhaps the world's dumbest driver has been arrested in Florida after he tried to play plainclothes police officer in a black Dodge Charger. The car belongs to the man's girlfriend.
A man in Florida, USA, has been charged with driving around in a fake police car. He was spotted by a real plainclothes police officer when he ran a red light.
The incident occurred on October 15th when Officer William Harsanyi of the Hernando County Sheriff's Office was on his way to work in his private car.
A black Dodge Charger was close behind him, and as they approached an intersection, the Charger's headlights activated red and blue lights mounted on the front of the car. He used the blinkers as an excuse to bark at mess. But it is now costing him dearly.
Carscoops writes that.
Harsanyi, himself a police officer, contacted his colleagues and had the Charger stopped. The driver, Frank Michael DeJiulio Jr., initially denied having the card for the mess. However, he admitted it later.

DeJiulio Jr. is now charged with illegal use of blue police flashing lights and for impersonating a police officer. He must post a bond of 6,000 dollars, which corresponds to just over 40,000 kroner, to be released. His girlfriend's car, in which he drove, has been impounded.
Police have found no evidence that DeJiulio Jr. have been posing as police officers to the public, but they are urging people to come forward if they have information on the case.
Quite ordinary drivers playing police officers are unfortunately not a particularly 'American phenomenon'. The annoying type is also found on the Danish roads.
For example, it cost a very young driver very dearly when he tried to stop a real police patrol in December 2020. Read more about it here .
