New information suggests that the Tesla Model Q is on the way, and that it will be priced at just over 211,000 Danish kroner with tax subsidy. The Wall Street Journal writes.
Several media outlets write that Tesla is ready with the Model Q in 2025. The Model Q is a cheaper electric car that Elon Musk has already confirmed will arrive in the first half of 2025.
"We're still on track to deliver more affordable models from the first half of 2025," Musk said in October.
Tesla previously announced a $25,000 electric car, but that plan has been dropped. Instead comes the Model Q, which will be a variant of the Model 3 and Model Y.
That's what Wall Street CN writes.
– I think that it is fundamentally pointless to have an ordinary car model for 25,000 dollars. That would be ridiculous. It's completely contrary to what we believe in an autonomous world," Elon Musk said when the quarterly results were published in October.
Model Q is expected to cost $37,500, but with tax breaks and tax rebates in the US, the price could drop to $30,000.
In Denmark, it can be changed to DKK 211,000, because the government insists that there should be no registration tax on electric cars under DKK 415,000 from 2025.
Tesla's head of IR, Travis Axelrod, has confirmed the name Model Q. The car will be produced in existing factories and have similarities to the Model 3 and Model Y, but with a simpler interior. Tesla has, among other things, tested fabric upholstery in various markets.
