The first BMW Art Car saw the light of day in 1975, and among the most famous is Andy Warhol's take on a BMW M1 from 1979. That car will also come to Denmark at the beginning of May.
The first ever BMW Art Car does the same – namely Alexander Calder's take on a BMW 3.0 CSL. Jeff Koons BMW M3 GT2 is also part of the exhibition.
The latter is a multicolored beast with a 4-liter naturally aspirated V8 and 480 horsepower. In comparison, the first Art Car, as the name also suggests, has a 3-liter straight six with 206 horsepower.
