The price of petrol is now the highest in a year and a half

Fuel in Denmark has not been more expensive in the past year and a half than it is right now. And there is no prospect of a fall.

While the Swedes are lowering the price of both diesel and petrol to the EU's absolute minimum this year and next year, the price continues to rise at home.

On January 1, the government imposed additional taxes on fuel due to a 15-year-old agreement in the area.

And on 1 January 2025, people in diesel cars will be forced to pay an additional 50 ore in tax per vehicle. litres. But right now petrol and diesel per se have not been more expensive in the past year and a half.

The price per liter is the highest since November 2022. This is evident from Drivkraft Danmark's website , which monitors Danish fuel prices.

Right now, the price of petrol is just around 15 kroner in most places in the country. Diesel, which will still be slightly cheaper in terms of tax for a few months, costs a good 14 kroner.

However, there is still a long way to go before the record level for fuel here at home. In the summer of 2022, motorists paid DKK 20 per litre.

In fact, it was precisely on 7 June 2022 that the almost magical border was crossed at the country's gas stations. In October of the following year, there were many indications that that price was on its way back.

Mikkel Rosenvold, who is a financial and geopolitical analyst at Steno Research, told Ekstra Bladet at the time that it was primarily due to a skyrocketing oil price.
