The Easter holidays can be a really expensive pleasure, especially for car owners who don't think about it, warns the police.
Many Danes with choir cards and a trailer spend the Easter days gardening. But what few people think about is that it can cost many thousands of kroner in stalls.
This is what the Funen Police write in a post on Facebook .
The rule that the police circle refers to is the one about overloading on a trailer. When the law enforcement authorities see this, there are fierce stalls.
Not just because this kind of thing is dangerous, economically there are also several thousand good reasons not to… go with overloading the trailer that is.

The starting point is that it costs DKK 75 per percent the trailer is overloaded with. However, the fine can never be less than DKK 1,000, says the warning.
But it could get worse. If you load 200 kilos more in a trailer that is only allowed to weigh 500 kilos, you will be fined 3,000 kroner, because this is an excess of 40 percent.
Overload is, the police note, not only about the weight of the trailer. It is also about how much the individual car is type-approved to tow, and how much weight you are allowed to tow according to the categories on your towing card. And not least what type of trailer.
