The police placed special weapons on the road to stop motorists

On the night of Wednesday, the police threw a mat out onto the road to stop the getaway driver. His comrades fled but were also captured.

On the night of Wednesday, South Jutland Police became aware of a suspicious car in connection with a possible burglary in Brædstrup.

A pursuit began in Brædstrup around 03.30 when the driver of the car refused to stop. The hunt continued along Silkeborgvej towards Horsens. Along the way, several objects were thrown from the car, which the police chased around the roads.

Later, the police found two elephant hats, work gloves and a headlamp along the route. The South East Jutland Police write this in a press release .

The police used a rubber mat to bring the cortege to a halt at Silkeborgvej/Sovej. Three men, aged 21, 22 and 27, were in the car.

One was arrested at the car, while the other two fled on foot. However, they too were apprehended. It happened in a field nearby.

The three men are now charged with attempted burglary. The South East Jutland Police are continuing the investigation and are considering whether they should be produced in a constitutional hearing later today.

It is not the first time that Danish police have thrown rubber mats to stop a motorist. The weapon has even been used against crazy drivers.

It happened i.a. in 2022, when law enforcement tried to stop an 18-year-old man with far too much speed. However, the young driver continued on with smashed tyres.
