On Monday evening, the police received a report from a motorist who had seen a van stuck in the rut on the motorway. It was an expensive game.
On Monday evening, the Central and West Zealand Police had to wake up a sleeping driver who had parked his van in the emergency lane on the Holbæk motorway near Roskilde.
The person was sitting and asleep behind the wheel when the police arrived at the scene. This is stated by the police circle in the police report .
According to the police, a 38-year-old man from Holbæk was found sleeping in the car. And when, shortly after waking up, he blew the breathalyzer above the permitted blood alcohol level, he was ordered to take a trip to the hospital.
A blood test will now determine exactly how stiff the 38-year-old man was when he sat down to snore behind the wheel of the van – well enough wearing a seat belt.

Sleeping drivers is not a new phenomenon. Several of the kind with heavy eyelids have been busted by the police. Within the last three years alone, Boosted has been able to tell about several motorists who have used the autopilot function in their Teslas when they have fallen asleep.
It is not more than a few months ago that such a driver was sentenced. The police tried over a stretch of 40 kilometers otherwise to wake him up. Read more about that case here .
