The W16 engine is a thing of the past. The V16 engine is the new thing. At least at Bugatti, where you turn up the horsepower with hybrid help.
Chiron's release is approaching. And now we know which engine Bugatti intends to use. After months of speculation, some would say years, the car brand now says it will put a V16 engine in the new car.
The brand says so in a press release .
Unfortunately, the French brand won't say much more. We therefore know neither how big the engine is measured in cubic meters, nor how many horsepower it gets.
But we know that Bugatti helps it all along with a hybrid system. However, the brand also keeps this relatively secret. So the question remains whether it will be wired or wireless.

From here – and right up until Chiron's replacement gets asphalt under the wheels – it's probably just a big guessing game. I wonder how many horsepower the new V16 engine has in store.
However, it is worth remembering the figure 1,600. That is what the former top model Bugatti Chiron Super Sport has to offer.
And it is difficult – if not impossible – to imagine Bugatti reducing the number of horsepower. In fact, we are probably starting with 1,600 horsepower. Least!
The W16 engine was actually Volkswagen's invention when the Germans breathed new life into the Bugatti name. That was way back in 2005. That car only disappeared after 450 copies in 2015. The Chiron was built in slightly more – namely 500.
