The municipality can shut down the Danish motorfest completely

Allingåbro Motor Festival lives on borrowed time. The organizer fears having to leave the land on which the party takes place.

Allingåbro Motor Festival faces an uncertain future. Norddjurs Municipality is considering selling the land on which the festival is held.

The festival, which attracts many visitors and has a 20th anniversary coming up, uses an area consisting of both municipal and privately owned land.

The municipality has received purchase offers for the municipal business land, which has led the city council to discuss the area's future.

– We fear that it could be the end of our motor festival if we don't have the areas we usually use," says Jens Olaf Hersom, chairman of Allingåbro Motor Festival to TV2 Østjylland .

The area is zoned for business in the municipal plan. But deputy mayor Benny Hammer (K) believes that there is room for both businesses and festivals.

The Social Democrats would also like the motorfest to continue at Nordjurs, says group chairman Lars Moller. He emphasizes, however, that the Social Democrats also want business development in the area.

The final decision on the future of the grounds will be made at the upcoming municipal council meeting. It will happen on Tuesday next week.
