The most aggressive drivers own these cars

It is especially drivers who own German brands who bark most aggressively in traffic. This is shown by a new survey that YouGov has carried out for the insurance company Storebrand in Norway.

According to a survey carried out by Yougov for the Norwegian Storebrand, one group of drivers in particular has a different perception of themselves: 45 percent of BMW owners think they are aggressive in traffic.

Compared to other car brands, the BMW choirs thus appear as those who most often rate their choir style as aggressive.

However, this does not entirely agree with the general opinion among motorists. Overall, "only" 42 percent of those questioned in the survey believe that BMW owners are the most aggressive in traffic.

In addition to BMW owners, their dittos in Tesla, Audi and Porsche cars top the list. 37 percent of Tesla owners themselves believe that they get excited behind the wheel. 26 percent of Audi owners and 24 percent of Porsche types do the same.

First, a long way down the list, you find the Mercedes owners, where only 12 percent see themselves as aggressive.

Christmas plays a role here. Or at least the time leading up to the festive season. Because it can easily cause even more stress in traffic.

Hanne Iversen Rye, injury prevention expert at Storebrand, warns that December is often characterized by bad weather, tight parking conditions and general busyness.

And that only increases the risk of accidents. She encourages motorists to take their time, follow the traffic and avoid distractions such as messing with the music while singing.

At the opposite end of the scale, when it comes to cautious traffic, Toyota tops the list.

20 percent of those surveyed see Toyota owners as the most cautious in traffic. It is followed by Volvo owners with 13 percent, while it is more than difficult to excite a Volkswagen owner. Only 10 percent believe that VW owners are angry in traffic.

At the same time, Audi owners – seen by almost the majority as the most aggressive – consider themselves to be the most cautious in traffic.

The survey, which was carried out online in weeks 40 and 41 with the participation of 1,011 people over the age of 18 with a driver's license, also shows that drivers generally see themselves as competent and careful on the roads.

As many as 71 percent rate their own abilities behind the wheel as being among the best when asked to rank themselves on a scale from 1 to 6.

However, this self-perception is in contrast to the preferences and assessments that are linked to different car brands, which emphasizes that motorists' view of themselves and others is often characterized by overestimation.
