The director of the car importers refuses to apologize for the log about electric cars

The director of the trade association De Danske Bilimportorer now acknowledges that it is not true that there is fraud for up to DKK 1 billion in registration tax on used electric cars.

It is not true that there is a fraud of up to a billion kroner with the registration tax on used electric cars that are imported into Denmark.

This is acknowledged by the director of the trade association De Danske Bilimportorer, Mads Rorvig, now to the Motor magazine .

It was otherwise Mads Rorvig who told TV2 in November last year about what the industry association believes is a billion-dollar scam.

But that now turns out not to be true. In a reply to the Folketing, Tax Minister Jeppe Bruus (S) states that the Motor Authority cannot recognize the picture from the car importers.

But Mads Rorvig will not regret the incorrect statement. Instead, he calls it "unfortunate" that an "incorrect estimate" now overshadows the fact that there are actually errors and that systematic fraud is being committed with the registration tax.

At the Danish Car Dealers Union, they call it problematic that car importers can get speaking time in the media by lying about larger numbers. DBFU believes that the figure is closer to DKK 50 million.

Autobranchen Danmark is not enthusiastic either, although director Gitte Seeberg agrees with the car importers that the taxes must not be cheated.
