The Danish Le Mans team has gone bankrupt

It has been in the cards for the past few days. And now it's official – GMB Motorsport is going bankrupt. The team confirms this in a press release.

The ambitious Danish motorsport team GMB Motorsport is a thing of the past. On Wednesday morning this week, the team itself announced that it has gone bankrupt.

This appears from a press release that the team has sent out, and to which a number of media – including Midtjylland's Avis and Motor-magasinet – refer.

The background to the bankruptcy is the current crisis in the GMB group, which Boosted has mentioned previously. And in order to get out of the current situation, the group sees no other way out than to wind up all motorsport activities as well.

New buyers have already been found for some of GMB Motorsport's equipment. Christian Jensen and Ulrik Larsen, who together have more than 40 years of experience in motorsport, must build on the foundation that GMB is now leaving behind.

– We will try to build on the fantastic work and the impressive results that GMB Motorsport has already achieved. We hope to be able to start in the TCR and Super 2L class in the 2024 season, it says.

The closure of GMB Motorsport does not yet appear elsewhere. But there has been no news on the team's website either since January, and the last message on Facebook was a cancellation from Herning, which was announced on 1 February.

GMB Motorsports' closure is far from the only one on four wheels at the moment. Out in the business world, there are reports of several bankruptcies among Danish car companies. They leave millions in debt.Read more about it here .
