German tuner Manhart has showered its love on the latest bottling of the M3. Halfway through the model's life, it now has 855 horsepower.
The German tuner Manhart has provided the BMW M3 Touring with a significant increase in power, bringing the total output up to 855 horsepower.
The heavily modified station wagon, which has been named the MH3 800 Touring, has thus gained horsepower equivalent to almost an entire BMW Z4 on top of the 510 horsepower from the factory.
To achieve this significant increase, Manhart has conjured up a number of changes in the engine compartment. In addition to a new engine control, everything from pistons to connecting rods has been replaced.
Like the twin turbochargers now work under an even higher pressure. To handle the extra power and the heat they generate, Manhart has thrown a larger intercooler into the car, a new carbon fiber intake and a completely new exhaust system.
In addition to the engine upgrades, Manhart has screwed H&R springs into the undercarriage. The car is otherwise on a rim assembly called 20" at the front and 21" at the rear. However, the brakes are so good, Manhart believes, that it has not been necessary to tinker with them from the factory.

However, the 8-speed automatic gearbox has been optimized to be able to handle the engine's increased torque of 1,090 Nm.
On the outside, Manhart has installed a body kit consisting of new grille inserts in the front, a front spoiler, side skirts, a rear wing and a diffuser with four tailpipes in the style of factory mounting from M3 Performance..
Manhart has not released specific production numbers or pricing for the MH3 800 Touring. But considering the price of a standard M3 Touring, which in Denmark costs from DKK 1,990,460, and the extent of the modifications, it must be expected that the car will be an expensive affair.
