57 percent of Danes who do not yet own an electric car have a very clear reason for choosing this type of car, a new study shows.
According to the survey conducted by Norstat for Toyota among 2,007 Danes, 57 percent of those who do not own an electric car say that they are opting out of the electric car.
At the same time, the Danes say that there is a very important reason why the electric car is not being considered. Namely, concerns when it comes to range.
Danes are simply worried that they can't get far enough on one charge.
"Although more and more Danes are choosing an electric car when they buy a new car, we still have to take the barriers that prevent some from buying an electric car very seriously," says Anders Tystrup, press manager at Toyota Denmark, according to BT.
– Range anxiety has been prevalent as one of the biggest barriers for many years and apparently still is among non-electric car owners, adds the press officer.
Toyota itself has problems with the electric car
The study also shows that even among those who already own an electric car, concerns about range are not unfounded.
37 percent of electric car owners surveyed believe that the range on a single charge is not sufficient, suggesting that range is a general concern that is not limited to potential electric car buyers.
The fear of insufficient range is a decisive factor that prevents many Danes from switching to an electric car.
Thus, it appears that while the popularity of electric cars is growing, range anxiety continues to be a significant obstacle to the wider acceptance of the car type.
It is clear that for a large proportion of Danes, the question of how far an electric car can drive on a single charge remains a central concern.
That said, Toyota itself has taken a huge hit when the brand launched its first electric car. Owners here in Denmark were also very dissatisfied. Read more about why right here .
