It is, of course, subject to a certain degree of uncertainty. Still, Danes can get an idea of the price of Europe's cheapest electric car, the Dongfeng Box.
It was not long ago that Boosted could tell that Denmark's cheapest electric car is being delayed. In the meantime, however, it has happened that an even cheaper car has wedged itself in between.
Whether the car will come to Denmark before the Citroën e-C3, which was otherwise the cheapest electric car, is difficult to say. But the Chinese Dongfeng Box has just been presented with price and equipment list in the Netherlands.
And because in Denmark there are no taxes on electric cars under DKK 435,000, and the Netherlands is an EU country, we can still get a pretty good idea of the price.
In the Netherlands , the Dongfeng importer wants the equivalent of DKK 164,000 for a Box. By way of comparison, Citroën in Denmark expects to be able to sell the electric e-C3 for DKK 179,990.

The model Dongfeng will sell for even less money, like the Citroën, is not an equipment bomb. On the contrary actually.
A small battery of 31.4 kWh should give a range of 230 kilometers. In the cabin we find a 12.3 infotainment screen, which i.a. can display the signal from a reversing camera and other assistance systems (several of them legally required after 7 July 2024, ed.)
For an additional DKK 7,200, the Dongfeng Box Launch Edition will have heated seats, a 42.3 kWh battery and a range of 310 kilometers. The slightly more expensive model is, as the name suggests, the first car to hit the roads. At least in the Netherlands. It will happen at the end of October this year. Only next year will the car with the smaller battery pack follow.
There is still no importer agreement with the Dongfeng brand in Denmark. But KW Bruun already has an agreement with the group of the same name for the import of the Voyah brand.
