Same size as a Fiat Multipla Niels Bernth from Græsted is the owner of the charming little Scout Car in the pictures. It is 384 cm long, 191 cm wide and 188 cm high. Broadly speaking, it corresponds to a Fiat Multipla. The Ferret has a turning radius of 11.6 metres, which, funnily enough, is also the same as in a Fiat Multipla. The armored military car is, however, somewhat more difficult to drive around, primarily because of the strange location of the steering wheel and because it does not have power steering. Difficult to reverse From the driver's position, only the steering wheel rim is visible, and the Ferret is steered by turning the steering wheel, which is mounted almost horizontally. On the floor are the pedals, which work like on an ordinary car. That is, as long as you remember the special pre-selector technique when the car is upshifted into the five gears, which work both ways. This means that you can drive forward just as fast as when you reverse. However, you should consider the latter carefully. From the driver's seat, you have poor visibility through three gunshot wounds, which make it almost impossible to back up. Here the passenger, who finds a place in the conning tower above the driver, can help, but this requires good organs. The large Rolls-Royce engine is actually enclosed in the armored car to protect it from bullets. Therefore, there is also an extremely high level of noise in the cabin. Cheap in annual fees It is not yet registered. The tare weight means that it can be registered as a truck. It requires a large choir card, but the fee is very low, and the insurance and annual fees won't break the bank either. At the same time, you can be happy that you will never get a dent again, you can sing in all kinds of weather, and if the police stop you, you can just stay in the chair. They never come in.
