Test: Lamborghini Urus – a mega bull on a walk in the woods

Top speed of 305 km/h Next to the start button, I can choose between four driving modes: 'Strada', 'Sport', 'Corsa' and 'Neve', which is a snow program. It will probably be the one that suits this test car best, but I can't resist putting it directly into 'Corsa' and putting the gearbox in manual. Here Urus tightens the corset and gets ready to give his very best. It also opens the valves in the exhaust, changing the character of the car from being a gentle cruiser to sounding like a snarling sports car. READ ALSO: The municipality refused Eric a garage – that's how he screwed them anyway The sound comes from a 4-litre V8 with biturbo. In the Urus, it produces 650 hp and 850 Nm. Despite the fact that the car tows 2.2 tonnes, at no point do I sit down and lack strength. 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. will humiliate most sports cars and if I keep going I would reach 200 km/h in just 12.8 seconds. I have no doubt that the official top speed of 305 km/h is possible. An expensive afternoon After a whole day in the company of the Urus, it is time to hand it back to Lamborghini Copenhagen. As a thank you for the loan, I just throw a round of 100 octane from Shell into the tank. I have to take a second look at the fuel gauge, which reveals that I have poured 53.4 liters of petrol. The trip meter says that I have covered 223 km this afternoon, which means 4.2 km/li average. That's about half as far as Lamborghini has given up. In all fairness, it must be said that I was in no way trying to go as far as possible on the liter – quite the opposite. With the Urus set to 'Corsa', it's a car that screams for some strokes – and it rewards you for it. But as soon as you've collected the family and want to take it easy, put it in the 'Strada', which transforms it from a super SUV to a good-natured family SUV for everyday use.
