Surprisingly lively Up front, a set of tires in size 275/40ZR17 ensure a heavy contact with the ground, and there is a noticeable correspondence between tire and ground, which gives a surprisingly lively feeling – especially at high speed. Zero to 100 km/h is accomplished in 4.6 seconds without any problems, while the top speed is 285 km/h. 22 years ago I "only" reached 250 km/h on the Autobahn when my top speed attempt was stopped by the heavy traffic. I remember that it took attention to keep the 1,650 kg fiberglass car on the right course. And as much as you had to be above it on the way up, you had to be careful when it had to stop again. A Dodge Viper has brake discs all around that measure 330 mm, which is just short of stopping the car with the same effect as it accelerates. However, the weak points are beginning to blur. What felt important at the time is suddenly unimportant. The Dodge Viper may be borderline toxic, but as a classic it hits all the right buttons. Bo has got his dream car Bo has got his dream car. A dream that has lived for over a decade, and as a consummation of the project I was allowed to test drive the car I designed in 1998. In fact, the experience moves me more than I want to know, not least because Bo did it, I myself was determined to go – but have not yet succeeded. Maybe I can make it yet. Editions of the Dodge Viper The earliest cars (SR I) existed only as a 2-door roadster with the option of a hardtop. In 1996, technical and mechanical improvements came with the launch of the SR II generation. The naturally aspirated V10 got an extra 50 hp, the car went on a diet and was made stiffer. The open Vipers are called RT/10, while the closed ones are called GTS. The prices are clearly the highest for the closed coupe. With the phasing out of the Viper as a concept with so far the last model from 2017, there is potential for a price increase on the sports car, which currently is cheaper than when it was new.
