The Tesla Roadster, when it hits the roads, will be 'something that has never existed before', says the car brand's director Elon Musk.
Tesla Roadster owners, if they ever receive the cars they pre-ordered, can prepare themselves for a car that is something out of the ordinary.
In fact, Tesla CEO Elon Musk won't compare the upcoming Roadster to a car at all. Among other things, he says, because it gets technology that his aerospace company SpaceX uses.
– It's not even a car, says Elon Musk about the upcoming Roadster, which nevertheless has four wheels, seats, mirrors and a steering wheel.
The Tesla director says it all in an interview with the American journalist Don Lemon. However, Musk will not go into detail about what SpaceX stuff is to be found on the new car, which will not be a car after all.

But Elon Musk and Tesla are busy. At least if they have to live up to their own ceilings. The next Tesla Roadster was first shown to the public in 2017.
Ever since, however, Tesla has said that the car was 'just around the corner'. And as recently as February this year, Elon Musk said that the car will be ready for mass production in 2025. So already next year.
Whether it holds water, or whether Tesla changes its mind once more, most people will probably get a headache just thinking about it.
On the other hand, Tesla actually succeeded – again despite several years of delay – in putting the wild pickup Cybertruck into production. Elon Musk believes that the car will be able to be built in 250,000 copies per year, once the production is in the right gear.
So far, the few owners content themselves with complaining about the car. And for Tesla's own part, the owners are threatened with legal action. Read more about it here !
