A Tesla owner thought he could get around parking charges by claiming he had suddenly suffered a very acute eye injury. It succeeded several times.
Some drivers will apparently do and say anything to avoid a parking fee. A Norwegian Tesla owner, for example, claimed that he suffered an acute eye injury from parking correctly.
Therefore, he also had to get away with doing the opposite, he thought. That's how he actually managed to rope the parking company several times.
This is written by Norwegian Motor .
That is, until that day both the parking company and the so-called Parking Complaints Board had enough.
– It is not likely that the driver will get eye damage every time he parks incorrectly. The complaint is not credible, the parking company writes in its decision.
The appeal board thus agrees with the parking company, which the Tesla owner had otherwise complained about, because they would not accept his 'urgent' apology. Therefore, the man in the electric car must now pay the tax, which amounts to NOK 660. This corresponds to 418 Danish kroner.
He also has to forfeit another 500 Norwegian kroner for attempted document forgery. In addition, the man must pay for another parking fee, which the Parking Complaints Board believes he escaped in the first place by lying to himself about his poor eyesight.
Incidentally, the man in the Tesla is not the first who has recently shaken a log out of his sleeve in an attempt to avoid a parking ticket. Another electric car owner even claimed that he had been subjected to armed robbery. Read more about that case here .
There are generally enough bad excuses. But some of them work. Boosted has previously been able to tell about how a woman was awarded a gigantic compensation because she managed to make it clear in court 'that she had contracted a venereal disease in her boyfriend's car'.
