Tesla in crisis? Dropping brand new car

Tesla has reportedly scrapped plans for the brand's cheapest car to date. Model 2 must sacrifice life for Elon Musk's idea of robot taxis.

We know Tesla has tested it. The American car brand has tried to disguise a cheap 'Model 2' as a Mazda. Read more about it here.

But now the Model 2 will not come to anything anyway. The CEO, Elon Musk, has completely different plans for the car brand.

This is written by the Reuters news agency.

Elon Musk simply wants to bet on robot taxis. However, it is not because Tesla cannot build the Model 2. But the resources can, the car brand apparently believes, be used better.

According to Reuters, Tesla is changing its mind due to increasing competition in the market for very cheap electric cars. And the cheap electric cars are coming.

The question is how cheap they can get. Recently Mazda, for example, markedly reduced the price of the small MX-30. So much so, in fact, that the car is now Denmark's cheapest electric car.

Back at Tesla, Elon Musk promised his investors and the outside world as recently as January this year that Model 2 was on the way.

In fact, Tesla was so far ahead with the model that production could begin 'already in the first part of 2025', the director said. But now Tesla seems to jump from it all right before the finish line.

However, Tesla changing course is not the only new thing from that side. In the first three months of 2024 alone, the brand has lost over 30 percent of its value. On top of a disappointing quarterly report, the analysts smell a bankruptcy.

– This is really the beginning of the end for the Tesla bubble, which is possibly the biggest stock market bubble in modern history, says analyst Per Lekander to CNBC.

However, Tesla is not the only American car brand that has just now found the reverse gear. Dane Henrik Fisker is in such bad shape that he ignores warranty provisions. Also in Denmark. Read more about it here .
