Tesla has sued Tesla

Tesla has ignored a demand to stop using the name. Therefore, the second Tesla is now going to court.

There are several companies with Tesla in the name.

But the car brand Tesla apparently won't accept that. Earlier this year, it cost a restaurateur DKK 135,000 for using the Tesla name 'incorrectly'.Read more about it here .

And now an Indian company named Tesla has found itself in a similar predicament. This is written by the Reuters news agency.

The Tesla company that the American car brand has now sued produces batteries and is called Tesla Power. But the car brand doesn't want to talk about that.

That is why Tesla – i.e. the car brand – has sought compensation, and made a demand that the Indians must never again market themselves under the Tesla name.

Tesla Power claims they came too late for both Tesla Inc. was founded, and even further for Elon Musk became the director of the brand.

– "We have never claimed to have connections with Elon Musk's Tesla," says Manoj Pahwa, spokesman for Tesla Power, in a comment to Reuters.

A judge has given Tesla Power three weeks to respond to the allegations in the lawsuit. The next court hearing in the case is May 22.

An Indian battery maker isn't Tesla Inc.'s only headache, however. Elon Musk recently announced that more than 10 percent of all the car brand's employees would be laid off. This has meant that entire departments within Tesla have become empty of employees. Read more about it here .
