Probation.
This is exactly what the Swedes are introducing for the country's newest drivers. Namely those who are not quite old enough to drive a real car, and therefore acquire a so-called AM driving license.
Similar to the conditions here at home, the chore card applies to small mopeds, but Swedish youngsters also have to get into an A-tractor, which is a markedly throttled car, with it.
But from 1 June 2024, all Swedish young people must accept that they are subject to a one-year probationary period in this connection.

If you are denied the AM choir card in Sweden within the first year after the choir exam, you do not just have to take the choir and theory exam again. It is from the beginning with all choir and theory lessons.
The Swedes believe that the stricter requirements can potentially save lives on the country's roads. There are in fact over 200,000 of them.
– One difference compared to the test period for driving license for passenger cars is that you have to go through the mandatory training for AM driving license, because you can take the driving test at the Swedish Traffic Administration again.
– The education costs approximately 5,000 – 7,000 Swedish kroner, and this is a significant expense for a young person.
– Hopefully it will lead to a more thoughtful and traffic-safe roundabout that saves lives, says Susanne Alger from the Norwegian Transport Agency in a press release .
Something else that the Swedes, on the other hand, are not so keen on, is a new restriction that the EU places on the special A tractors. Because even though the special cars must now go faster, the union's politicians will forbid certain young people from approaching them.Read more about it here .
