Stellantis will build hydrogen cars in Europe already this year

The world's fourth largest car group, Stellantis, says that hydrogen is part of the car fleet of the future. Production will begin in Poland already this year.

The world's fourth largest car group, Stellantis, does not just expect hydrogen cars to hit the streets in the future. They do something about it themselves.

Already this year, the car group is taking the step. The first production of hydrogen-powered vans begins in Poland, after which something should happen in the markets of North America.

And it actually goes lightning fast. This is what Jean-Michel Billig, head of Stellantis' hydrogen program, says, referring to a fuel cell version of the large Ram 5500.

That's what Auto Bild writes.

Stellantis believes that it will be possible to produce up to 100,000 electric cars with hydrogen as a fuel in 2030. At the same time, the group believes that it will be able to reduce at least 40 percent of the production costs in line with the development.

At the same time, Stellantis estimates that around 40 percent of all new commercial vehicles in 2030 will run on hydrogen. However, the group is not much in favor of ruling out either one or the other.

Not even petrol or diesel. Already last year, the group, which is an association of several historic car brands, said that 23 million of their cars, which are already on the roads, can run on, for example, synthetic petrol, the so-called e-fuel, without any problems. Read more about it here .
