Lewis Hamilton is a thing of the past at Mercedes. However, the Briton's 7 world championships managed to inspire the conversion of the 'Sir Class', which is the world's fastest G-Class.
The German tuner company HOF, headed by former Mercedes-AMG director Philip Schiemer, has created the world's fastest G-Class.
The new model, called 'Sir Class', is based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 and is a tribute to Lewis Hamilton, who after Sunday's grand prix in Abu Dhabi left Mercedes in favor of Ferrari.
The 'Sir Class' uses the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine as the G63. But the engine has been modified with new components such as stronger connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons and larger chargers.
In addition, the car has received a new intake in aluminum and a software update. The result is an output of 1,063 horsepower and a torque of 1,299 Nm, enabling the G-Class to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h.
On the outside, the G-Class has been modified with a carbon fiber body kit that covers most of the car, including a unique carbon fiber bonnet.
Malaysian oil company Petronas' signature turquoise color adorns both the 23-inch wheels and emblems. The rest of the bodywork is painted in a solv-to-black paintwork.
A new threaded undercarriage lowers the big Mercedes by 3 centimeters compared to the standard version of the G63 . Carbon fiber brakes that the car, which has aerodynamics like a detached house, can also stop again.
'Sir Class' was presented in connection with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton's last lob for Mercedes. HOF is building only 11 copies of the 'Sir Class', and the price starts at 4,750,000 Danish kroner. Whether Hamilton is i.a. the customers, history unfortunately does not report anything about.
