Selling almost 0 cars in Denmark – now 9 people every three

The Danish boss has already quit and the organization has been reduced by 10 employees. The Chinese car brand Nio is suffering in Denmark.

They are not off to a good start. Nio otherwise hoped to get off to a flying start when the Chinese brand landed in Denmark in October 2022.

However, this is far from the case. And now the consequences of a lack of breakthrough among Danish motorists are being felt.

10 men have been fired, and the Danish boss has moved on to another position. At the same time, Nio in Denmark is placed under management in Sweden.

That's what Motor magazine writes.

In front of the media, Nio's chief executive in Denmark calls the layoffs 'necessary' adjustments.

However, Denmark is not the only country in which Nio wields the money-saving knife. Nio must also save money in Sweden and Norway. However, Nio can take pride in the fact that the brand has recently secured a capital injection equivalent to 15 billion Danish kroner.

Nio is just the latest in a long line of car brands that are on a diet in Denmark. It all started rolling when Renault in Denmark was sold off by the French parent company.

Something that has also gone beyond the cheap brand Dacia. Later, a relatively unknown brand like Seat fired 9 dealers at home.

And this week it emerged that yet another brand has fired all its dealers in Denmark with two years' notice. The director will not guarantee that all dealers will get new contracts. Read more here .

The news about the many layoffs at Nio in Denmark comes just a few days after the brand's chief executive was able to say that the brand has plans to launch a low-cost brand in Europe. Read more about it here .
