The police add that the driver admitted both times that he had broken the law and therefore deserved both stops. However, he was not the only one who snuck into the bus lane on Thursday.
A total of 10 motorists on the same stretch were fined for carrying out the manoeuvre. The stall for them is relatively new. For a long period, it has been permitted for drivers in electric cars to use the bus lanes in Norway.
But several cities are now choosing to scrap that arrangement to ease the pressure on traffic. On 6 May, the Norwegian road authorities introduced a temporary ban on electric cars on roads reserved for public transport. It has happened on both motorways and country roads as well as in the city center in cities such as the capital Oslo and Akershus.
