Sweden's King Carl Gustav is a car enthusiast with a definite fondness for BMW.
Over the years, the king has regularly appeared in the media when he has sat behind the wheel of a car from Bavaria. Both when things have gone well and badly on the roads.
For example, the king was on the front pages of the Swedish newspapers when in 2005 he smashed his BMW E46 M3 CSL into the back of an anchoring motorist.
The king's former cars also turn up at auctions from time to time, where they can get into the hands of people without blue blood in years.
Last August, for example , the king's former BMW E28 M5 appeared in the United States of all places. And now Carl Gustaf's E24 635 CSi has appeared in the Swedish town of Falkenberg.

The royal couple Carl Gustaf and Silvia droned around in the car for a good 2.5 years. And the car even features in a Swedish documentary about the queen's life.
Today the car is still in Sweden and is equipped with number plates. The car has a short 211,000 kilometers, is equipped with a sunroof, five gears and thick Recaro seats.
The seller believes that the car should cost DKK 240,000. So Swedish. Converted to Danish currency, this corresponds to DKK 153,000.
The king of Sweden has not himself commented on the fact that his former BMW is now in the hands of one of his subjects, and will soon probably change hands again, but he has spoken about his love for BMW.
