Replica of famous Formula 1 track is looking for a new owner

The only thing missing is the aspect ratio. Otherwise, the race track in Amarillo, Texas is reminiscent of the Formula 1 track in Istanbul, which is no longer used.

Recently, Boosted has been able to tell about quite a few racetracks that are looking for a new owner. Including "Big Willow". Read more about it here .

And now another one has appeared. This time it is a 1:1 replica – that is, of the layout – of Istanbul Park. A place that served as a Formula 1 track between 2005 and 2020.

Complete with 14 turns, the track in Texas is however a bit shorter than the model in Turkey. Istanbul Park, designed by the legendary track man Hermann Tilke, is 5.38 kilometers long. The replica is just over 1.6 kilometers long.

It is therefore something of a compressed experience that awaits the new owner or owners. It was Thane Morgan who, in his time, had the track laid out in Texas as a private area. However, it was later opened to the public.

In 2022, the course was sold to the three Yuchinski brothers, who completely renovated the place. But now the brothers also have to move on. That's why the Amarillo Kart Complex, as the place is dubbed, is now up for sale again.

The entire glory can be acquired for the 'modest' sum of 2 million dollars, corresponding to just under 14 million Danish kroner at the current exchange rate.

The future owner can safely count on having the place to himself. The last competitive lob was short on the pitch in 2017. Those interested can find the entire sales lineup for the plant in Texas here .

Should we stay at home, but if you're looking for a property that will still be full of cars, it's actually not necessary to go further than Taastrup. This is where the giant car dealer Fisker Inc. is located. left just a month ago.

Business agent Kim Kyhl Andersen tells Boosted that at least one car brand has already shown interest in taking over the place.

– I can say as much that financial figures have been exchanged, says the business broker who was also present when Fisker Inc. in due course moved into the premises.
