Rare BMW found in abandoned house for 10 million kroner

In an abandoned mansion of a home in the USA stands an equally abandoned BMW E34 M5. Reportedly, no one has helmed either the house or the car since 2008.

It happens from time to time that people leave both house, home and their cars. Even if on the surface it looks solid. At least economically.

There are few details about why this particular BMW E34 M5 was abandoned. But apparently no one has looked at it – or at the house where the car is parked – since 2008.

It is told in a video from the YouTube channel BigBankz.

Allegedly, the car belonged to a doctor who is – or perhaps rather was – both a car enthusiast and a racing driver on the side. The property was purchased in 1996. But for the couple who lived in the house, things started going downhill in 2008.

According to neighbours, none of the house's residents have been seen since 2015, when some moving boxes were dragged out in a Porsche. A car which soon after sped away from the scene, only to never be seen in the area again.

Judging from the car's condition, it has clearly seen better days. But the license plates indicate that the car may have been imported from Germany. This means that the engine is not 3.5 litres, which the Americans had to settle for, but a whopping 3.8 litres.

If the license plate is correct, and if it's not just put on for entertainment, it could be the 3.8-liter straight six that BMW equipped the car with in the last years of production from 1992 to 1996. If so, the car one of the last 3,910 copies.

The E34 version of the 5 Series was also available with the V8 engine. But then it was called the 540i and had to make do with 286 horsepower from a 4-liter engine.

It is worth noting that such abandoned homes, garages and places are not as unusual as they seem. Not even among the better off.

Boosted has previously told about how a small sea of immediately brand new BMW E34 5 Series appeared in an abandoned warehouse. Read more about it here .
