Porsche's 195-meter-high prestige building sinks

The Porsche Design Tower, located in Miami, is 195 meters high. But it has already sunk 8 centimeters, new studies show.

The Porsche Design Tower, a prestigious building in Miami, has begun to sink. The 60-story building, where soccer star Lionel Messi, among others, owns an apartment, is sinking at a rate that exceeds experts' expectations.

Studies from the University of Miami show that the Porsche Building, which at 195 meters high is a significant part of the city's skyline, has already sunk 8 centimeters since its completion in 2014.

The reason for the significant decline is believed to be rising sea levels, which are washing away an underlying layer of clast.

The discovery is particularly concerning in light of a tragic building collapse in 2021, when a twelve-story building collapsed, killing 98 people. Since then, geologists have intensified monitoring of buildings in the area.

Although there is no immediate danger associated with the sinking Porsche tower, scientists still warn of a significant risk. Especially in the long term. However, the problem is nothing new. Almost all coastal buildings sink over time.

A survey of 35 buildings, including the Ritz Carlton Residences, The Surf Club Four Seasons and Trump Tower III, has confirmed this using satellite imagery. The images show that all of the buildings are sinking.

One is that Porsche's giant trademark is slowly sinking. Something completely different and more acutely dangerous is that entire parking garages are collapsing.

Boosted has, among other things, told of a parking garage that could not support the weight of electric cars and therefore turned itself into a pile of rubble. The disaster that ended up being, those responsible had actually been warned about in advance. Read more about it here .
