Audi is saying goodbye to a sea of models at the moment. TT and R8 are already a thing of the past. The A5 Cabriolet is now out of production after 15 years.
The Audi A5 Cabriolet builds on a foundation that was already laid in 1991 with the introduction of the first modern Audi Cabriolet, based on the Audi 80 model.
This early version targeted a new customer segment and helped establish Audi as the brand it is today. But now it's time to say goodbye.
In 2002, the Audi A4 Cabriolet was launched as a replacement for the Audi 80 Cabriolet, and the model played a decisive role for Audi in that segment. The Audi A4 Cabriolet later became the A5 Cabriolet.
This is stated by the Danish importer in a press release .

The introduction of the Audi A5 Cabriolet took place in 2009. Designed by the then Audi design chief, Walter de Silva, the A5 Cabriolet combined many of the technical and aesthetic elements of the A5 Coupé.
Production of the Audi A5 Cabriolet will stop in the summer of 2024 to make way for a new A5 generation, which will be presented later this year on a completely new platform.
However, there is still an opportunity to acquire one of the last new cars that are either already available in Denmark or on their way from the factory.
The best-equipped A5 Cabriolet Prestige Plus is offered with a petrol engine and dual-clutch gearbox, something the Danish importer, among other things, will lease out.
