Police release video of new type of brazen car thefts

East Jutland's Police have recently been stormed by car owners who are missing their side mirrors, or in some cases 'just' the glass.

In the 'old days' it was car radios, then it became lights on expensive cars, and now it's mirrors. These days, car thieves especially plague electric car owners around Denmark.

In this connection, the police have now published a number of surveillance videos, which show several different perpetrators in the process of stealing side mirrors.

The East Jutland Police state this in a press release .

We have discussed the thefts here at Boosted. It started on the Copenhagen west sign, spread to North Zealand, and now no car owner can feel safe in their own intersection.

The Danish Mercedes importer has previously said that the glasses the thieves are lobbing with are extremely valuable.

It can easily cost up to 3,000 to 4,000 kroner to replace the missing glass. And it becomes even more expensive when the entire wing mirror is stolen.

The law enforcement authorities suspect that it is an organized theft, where the thieves steal the side mirrors 'to order'. In North Zealand, the police circle has known about the problem for half a year.

The law enforcement authorities suspect that it is an organized theft, where the thieves steal the side mirrors 'to order'. But now the East Jutland Police are releasing a series of videos in the hope of getting a closer explanation.

– We have undoubtedly had a definite wave of thefts, where the perpetrators purposefully go after side mirrors of the more expensive car brands, each of which has a value of several thousand kroner, says Deputy Police Inspector at East Jutland Police, Martin Frank Rasmussen.
