Polestar Energy makes home charging smarter and cheaper for Danish electric car owners

Polestar Energy has made it easier for Danish electric car owners to save money on charging at home. Here we explain how.

With the new Polestar Energy app, customers can reduce their costs while making charging more environmentally friendly.

Polestar Energy is now available in Denmark as part of a major European initiative. Customers can take advantage of smart charging and solar energy to get the most advantageous and environmentally friendly charging.

Polestar is thus expanding its offerings to more markets, so that more electric car owners can enjoy the benefits.

With the Polestar Energy app, electric car owners can schedule their charging to charge when electricity prices are lowest, potentially saving up to 30% on the total cost of home charging.

In addition, it is possible to achieve further savings through network rewards of up to 300 EUR annually.

Following a successful launch in countries such as the UK and the Netherlands, Denmark is now among the 11 markets where the service is available, with further roll-out to more European countries planned in the future.

Polestar Charge, which already covers over 875,000 charging points in Europe, including Tesla Superchargers, complements the new energy concept.

In Denmark, there is access to over 30 supercharger stations, which provides flexibility for drivers.

Intelligent charging technology makes it possible to make optimal use of the electricity grid. Charging when demand is low ensures lower prices and a more environmentally friendly charging experience.

The proportion of green energy is often higher at these times, reducing the car's overall CO2 footprint.

To benefit from Polestar Energy, customers need a compatible home charger. For example, the Zaptec wall charger can be used, and Polestar offers attractive installation packages that make it easy to get started.

During 2025, Polestar will also introduce advanced features such as vehicle-2-grid and vehicle-2-home.

These technologies allow the electric car to function as an energy storage device and send excess energy back to the power grid or be used at home.

The Polestar Energy app is free to download and allows customers to take full control of their charging. With the right settings, customers can ensure that the car is always ready when they need it, while also achieving savings.
