Polestar 3 and 4 are driving growth in both Denmark and the rest of the world with a 76 percent increase in retail sales globally.
Polestar has had a strong start to 2025. Global retail sales increased by 76 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2024. In Denmark, sales have more than doubled.
The figures just released by the automaker show total sales of 12,304 cars across all markets in the first quarter of 2025. In comparison, Polestar sold 6,975 cars in the same period last year.
The new electric SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 in particular have contributed to the global growth. Sales are also on par with the fourth quarter of 2024, which Polestar says is satisfactory in an economically unstable market.
In Denmark, the growth is even more significant. In the first quarter of 2025, 524 Polestar cars were newly registered. This is 133 percent more than in the first quarter of 2024, when the number was 225.
Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 boost sales
The large increase in sales in Denmark covers the entire model range. The popular fastback Polestar 2 still attracts many customers, but SUVs are also quickly gaining ground.
Polestar Denmark's director Henrik Bang is positive about the development.
“We are very satisfied with the development in Denmark. It is really positive to see the great growth across the entire model range."
"The Danish progress is in line with the global trend and emphasizes that our cars are in a very strong position – even in an uncertain and changeable market," says Henrik Bang.
The company's CEO Michael Lohscheller notes that the transformation of the sales model is starting to work.
“We are on the right track and doing the right things. I am pleased with the progress we are seeing in the transformation of our commercial setup. With a more active sales model, more retail partners and attractive cars, we are delivering strong results,” says Michael Lohscheller.
However, he emphasizes that the company continues to monitor geopolitical conditions and is ready to adapt.
Annual report and expectations for the rest of 2025 for Polestar
Polestar expects to publish its 2024 annual results and file its annual report on Form 20-F by the end of April 2025.
The total number of cars delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025 indicates that Polestar has managed to maintain momentum.
With two new models on the market and more sales partners on the way, the car manufacturer expects growth to continue for the rest of the year – also in Denmark.
