Petra Westin delivered her Peugeot 208 to the workshop after a minor accident. However, she only got the car back after 14 months of waiting, and a few days later a warning light came on, indicating that the car needed servicing.
Petra Westin, who works as a real estate agent, handed her electric car, a Peugeot e-208, to the workshop at Hedbergs Bil in Malmo after she in October 2023 went wrong..
After the accident, the car was transported to a workshop, where Petra was told that it would be ready for collection in February. However, the delay was longer than expected.
– There were spare parts here and there that had to be ordered, and they couldn't get hold of the person who is a specialist in electric batteries. Where is the bottleneck, says Petra Westin to Sydsvenskan .
As a private lessee of the car, Petra Westin was not entitled to a loaner car during the repair period. Despite the fact that her car was in a workshop, she still had to pay leasing costs, which in total reached over DKK 50,000. Only after six months was she allowed to borrow a car from the workshop.
When the waiting period was finally over and Hedbergs Bil had completed the repair, Petra Westin collected her car after exactly 370 days. After the long process, she now advises other car owners to carefully read their lease agreements.

– Nobody expects to have their car at the workshop for a year. Where does it say in my contract that I have to accept it?, asks Petra Westin.
After just two days of driving the repaired car, a warning light came on, calling the car for service. But Petra is now hesitating to return the car to the workshop, as she fears that a new delivery could lead to further waiting time.
The workshop, Hedbergs Bil, has stated that they are aware of the problems and attribute the long waiting times to the resignation of some employees.
Marketing manager Carl Johan Hedberg explains that the company has now implemented new procedures to ensure that cars do not stand still for long periods of time without being treated.
– We have created a security system so that the cars do not stand still. We have control over all the cars that come in, which was not the case for. Cars have been received and not entered into the system. We have hired new employees and rebuilt the organization," says Carl Johan Hedberg to Sydsvenskan.
