Now Tesla's cars are banned in several places

Paradoxically, the concern that has led to the ban comes from the Chinese dictatorship, which is otherwise not shy about using surveillance itself.

The Chinese government is concerned that Tesla, through its cars, monitors and collects geographic data about the country.

For the same reason, a number of authorities in China are now beginning to ban Tesla in several areas of the country. Among other things, a conference center in Shanghai.

A number of sources who live nearby told the business media Nikkei Asia . A resident in the area has said that event organizers have already been told to pass the message on to their guests.

However, the new ban is not the only thing that has hit Tesla in China. In connection with the holding of the World University Games in the city of Chengdu, certain roads were forbidden to drive on.

That is, if you short a Tesla. The same was the case at a detention center in Sichuan province. Here, Tesla owners, if they have an errand at the detention center, must find a parking space at least 50 meters away.

Since last year, however, Tesla has tried to reassure the Chinese authorities. Among other things, by opening a data center in the country, where the brand claims to store information on all cars Tesla has ever sold in China.
