Now Hans has a short 2,100,000 kilometers in his Tesla

The German record holder Hansjörg von Gemmingen is apparently unstoppable in his Tesla Model S, even though 2,100,000 kilometers have cost him 14 electric motors.

There is no other Tesla owner who has cards as far into a Model S as Hansjörg von Gemmingen has. His messy Model S from 2013 has now completed the 2,100,000 kilometers and a bit more.

However, the journey there has not been a bed of roses. Hansjörg von Gemmingen has sacrificed as many as 14 electric motors on the car, just as it is now running on its fourth battery pack.

Already in April, however, Hansjörg von Gemmingen could tell via his profile on the social media X that the car had completed the 2,000,000 kilometres. It happened on a trip to Morocco.

One of the reasons why the Tesla has used the many battery packs is a weakness in the car's design. The model is among the first generation Model S, which especially has problems with the rear axle.

However, two of the battery packs have been replaced under warranty, and the other two have not been brand new, but rather refurbished units. The new engines are not brand new either, but some Tesla has refurbished.

However, a Croatian mechanic claims to have found the solution to the problem that wore out the engines. Now the EV Clinic says that the car has just covered the last 400,000 kilometers with the same engine.

The Tesla now has just under 2.1 million kilometers. But Hansjörg von Gemmingen wants to go even further than that. He plans to drive the Tesla past the 5,000,000 kilometer mark. A record high mileage that the American Irv Gordon managed to put behind him in a Volvo P1800 before he died in 2018.

All in all, when we get to such high mileage, there is a lot to do with maintenance. If it's not just about that kind of thing.

Joe LoCicerro was another one of those men who managed to go really, really far. Before he died in 2016, he managed to cover 1.6 million kilometers in his Honda Accord.

Today, 'True Blue', as the car was dubbed, is at the American Honda factory museum in Torrance, California. Unfortunately, 'Million Mile Joe' died aged just 59.
