A California senator wants to make speeding more than 10 miles (16 km/h) so illegal that artificial intelligence must prevent it.
If California Senator Scott Wiener has his way, no new car in California after 2027 will be allowed to go too fast.

Scott Wiener simply wants the car brands to install GPS tracking and other monitoring in new cars.

The monitoring must keep an eye on that no motorist – at least those in new cars – speed too fast. The senator suggests that the cars should not be able to drive faster.
If the law becomes a reality, it will mean that no new car in California will be able to go faster than 121 km/h.
