No new car must be able to exceed 120 km/h, says politician

A California senator wants to make speeding more than 10 miles (16 km/h) so illegal that artificial intelligence must prevent it.

If California Senator Scott Wiener has his way, no new car in California after 2027 will be allowed to go too fast.

Or yes. Slightly. But 10 miles per hour, equivalent to 16 km/h over the speed limit in any applicable speed zone, should be the limit, says Scott Wiener.

This is written by the media ABC7 .

Scott Wiener simply wants the car brands to install GPS tracking and other monitoring in new cars.

The monitoring must keep an eye on that no motorist – at least those in new cars – speed too fast. The senator suggests that the cars should not be able to drive faster.

If the law becomes a reality, it will mean that no new car in California will be able to go faster than 121 km/h.

We do not have such a set of rules in Denmark. But the EU still limits the freedom of Danish drivers. All new cars, which are sold both at home and in the rest of the EU, are equipped with a special gossip handle. Read more about it here .
