Nissan's new perfume smells like burnt car tires

It's not a very belated April Fool's joke. Nissan's latest hit is actually a perfume with a scent from the world of cars.

Once you've had the experience of burning tires, it's not easy to forget. The Nissan Nismo department now emphasizes that.

Not with a new car, but a new perfume. Yes, it is good enough. The Japanese perfume smells like… burnt rubber. That is, among other things.

Because the aroma of burnt tires is mixed with cherry blossoms. Nissan has not sent us a 'product sample'. So we have to take the Japanese's word for it. The smell is understandable.

The car brand also calls the perfume 'Smell My Dust'. But we don't actually know much more. Nissan hasn't even told you how to get hold of a bottle.

However, people who were left with questions will not have to wait very long for answers. For the Japanese, already this week, in connection with the Formula E race in the Chinese city of Shanghai, more details are published.

The fact that it is in Shanghai, where Nissan is unveiling their new fragrance, is not entirely coincidental either.

According to Top Gear, the perfume was developed at a perfumery in that particular Chinese city. Nissan must, among other things, have used scraps from real Formula E tires to arrive at the scent.

It is not the first time that something from the world of cars appears as perfume. At the beginning of 2023, the internet went into overdrive when it suddenly became possible to smell the lubricant WD40. Read more about it here .
